4-week Virtual Course
Please read course requirements before registering.
The 4-week virtual course registrants meet every Wednesday evening from 5:30 – 7:30pm CST.
Webcam and audio are required by all registrants. The virtual courses are interactive and social with open discussion as a live group. Space in the class is one student per paid registration. Once registered there are no cancellations or refunds. Space is limited to a maximum of 12 students.
In this 4-week course you will learn how to plan your projects, create your design patterns, choose the best products, how to select your enamel colors, mixing colors when necessary and using color theory information to execute the colors properly, application techniques, adding details to your paintings, and the firing steps and schedules for either COE90/COE96 (many of my students use float glass as well) to paint wildlife and animal images as seen above.
This course uses Unique Glass Colors products, and the complete materials and supply list is downloaded from your payment receipt email. Click on the PDF link to download it (you may substitute Hues 2 Fuse or Colors for Earth enamels – the application steps are the same).
That PDF file also has a ZOOM link for you to complete the registration and add yourself to the course roster. Save the ZOOM confirmation email as this has your access to the weekly meetings and you will use the same link every week. Check your spam folders if it is not in your inbox.
How the virtual courses operate –
During the weekly meetings I will demonstrate and discuss in the lecture the techniques and processes used in painting wildlife and animals in fused glass enamels. We will also have open Q&A periods during the meeting.
Registrants will be given recording permissions for the weekly meetings for personal use only. Recordings may not be shared, published, or used in open studios/classes. By registering you agree to the privacy standards. I do not record the weekly meetings so if you are not able to do so, take copious notes during the meetings. iPad, cell phones, and small devices will not work to record the meetings. You must use a desktop or laptop computer with video playing software.
Each week after the meeting, any handouts and exercise assignments to build your skills and learn the techniques will be posted to a private Facebook group that is set up for the duration of the course for you to download and save. Handouts include specific topic information from that week’s meeting.
Each student will be assigned a photo album set up where they will post the exercises and projects each week for 1:1 video feedback and assistance (once you gain access to the group there is a video demo on how to photograph and post your work to your album).
Plan to set aside enough time to execute and fire work each week. Posts for 1:1 video feedback will be due by Monday 10am CST (my time). Any posts after this day and time will not receive video feedback and only written comments as I have time due to my work schedule.
