Enamel Painting and Dimensional Elements Class
Read the information and class requirements before registering.
All registrants for this class are required to have a webcam and audio as a live interactive and social class.
After registering for the class you will receive an email receipt from the website purchase. Check your spam or trash folder if this does not arrive in your inbox. There is a PDF link to download from this receipt. It is Part One (8 pages) that includes the materials supplies, and prep to have completed before the first class session. An example of the website receipt is shown below.
IMPORTANT - The PDF also includes the link you must use to complete your registration on ZOOM. Without this step you do not have the class link to log in. Please register on ZOOM immediately after payment so you do not forget. Save the confirmation that comes directly from ZOOM. This may be in your spam folder check afterward so it is not deleted in error.
NOTE: Registrants will be given permission to record the two sessions to their computer for personal use and reference. Video replays are not provided so if you plan to record, use a device you can record and save the video to. If not recording be sure to take notes and refer to the handout material (iPads and other tablet devices are not suitable for recording).
Part Two PDF (19 pages) will be emailed to registrants on Friday, February 7th.
Enamel painting dimensional elements for fused glass projects is the topic of the class and how to go about planning, painting, firing, and final assembly considerations and tips. Students may paint along with me step by step on the class project. These processes and techniques that I use that may be used for several subjects in your fused glass painting projects and the class is designed to provide you the knowledge and steps to create your own design concepts using enamels and dimensional elements. It’s all about planning and observation. 27 handout pages.
Class day one - painting with the enamels and concentrating on methods to achieve detail
Class day two - adding fine details and a review of firing schedules and demonstration on the final steps.
ENAMELS AND PRODUCTS
I teach with and developed techniques with the enamel brand Unique Glass Colors. If you use Colors for Earth it is a suitably substitution with the techniques I teach. Outside of these two brands many enamels I have tested are not compatible with the supplemental products both UGC and CFE offer. For results that have interested you with my style of painting, it is recommended you use either of these brands, or it will require you test and adapt for technique compatibility.
Registrants for this class will also receive a 9 page outline of the steps and design for the turtle piece. It is not a full step by step tutorial but the steps and firing schedules.
A list of materials, supplies, and the enamel colors and products are listed in the PDF download. The products I used are Unique Glass Colors. If you wish to substitute with Colors for Earth, email me for a suitable list of substituted colors.
There are no refunds, exchanges, or transfers of registrations for virtual classes. If you cannot attend all three nights, you have the PDF handout with the instructions and steps to get caught up or use should something come up.
