4-Week Virtual Course March 12th - April 2nd, 2025
The class meets for four consecutive Wednesday evenings from 5:30pm – 7:30pm CST.
Webcams and audio are required by all registrants. This is a live, interactive, and social class.
Seating in this class is limited.
IMPORTANT: A complete materials and supply list, glass list and preparation are downloaded from the website receipt along with a link to complete your registration on ZOOM for the meeting link, and a link to the private class Facebook group. Check your spam folder if the website email receipt does not arrive in your inbox and download as soon as possible!
Other course handouts will be posted to the class Facebook group March 3rd for any prep to have completed for the first class.
Description of this course:
This course will use Unique Glass Colors or Colors for Earth enamels and products. These are the two brands I have mastered and use in my classes. Both options are listed in the materials and supply list download.
In this four-week course students will have the option to work live right along with me as we explore the possibilities, limitations, and increase your knowledge of color using fired glass enamels and detailing products to their potential. Discussion during the class will include learning how to evaluate color and break it down to determine what colors would be used to mix your enamels as closely as possible. Enamels come in a vast array of colors but in this class, you will learn how to make changes for your specific projects.
During the lecture, demonstrations, and discussion everyone will be working live learning tips to physically mix the exercise project colors using only the primary colors.
You will complete 5 exercises pieces in this course. Each week there will be one or more exercises students will complete, fire, and post to a private class Facebook group that is set up for the duration of the course. Class attendees will upload the images of exercise pieces to their personal photo album within the group for weekly 1:1 video feedback/assistance and critique. The group is the go-to point for discussion and questions between class meetings.
You will want to have at least three 1-ounce jars of the three primary colors (Red, Blue, Yellow, White and 1-ounce Black) listed in the supply list, or a 3.4-ounce jar that is more cost effective. For value, I purchase pints of the most frequently used colors.
You may order 3.4-ounce jars of UCG Color from Unique Glass Colors or Milkweed Arts of order your colors from Colors for Earth. I recommend you have at least two 8-ounce jars of Medium to be on the safe side.
There are no refunds or cancellations on virtual courses due to the limited seating.
NOTE: Registrants will be granted permission to record the weekly class meetings to their computer or laptop for personal use and reference. Meeting replays will not be provided or shared. Not all iPads or tablets are suitable for recording so plan appropriately and take notes.
