Enamel painting knowledge and some experience is recommended. This is not a beginner tutorial.
The tutorial is written for using Unique Glass Colors enamels and products. If using Colors for Earth, the PDF includes a list of products you may use to substitute. Outside of these two brands the techniques may have to be adapted as these are the brands I teach with. Many of the supplemental products that I use in the steps are not compatible with other enamel brands.
What is in this 24-page Tutorial?
Painting dimensional elements with enamels, detailing steps, firing schedules and sequences, design pattern for the leaf shape glass or two optional patterns: round or square, and photographed step by step illustrations.
NOTE: This tutorial does not include video content. It is adapted from a live two-evening class where registrants painted along live step by step along with live discussions. Live virtual classes are periodically scheduled and listed on my website when open for registration with limited seating.
PDF tutorials are for your personal use and not for redistribution or use in classes as copyrighted material and my original designs.
**Fused glass enamel instructors all use specific brands of enamels for their techniques and the optimal results they achieve and have mastered the use of their chosen enamels. All enamels are not equal. Each has its own unique features and benefits. If your plan is to execute your enamel painting with techniques from any instructor, use the products they recommend. The expectation that the results of a brand the instructor doesn't use or tried and eliminated from their list of preference is unrealistic as products differ. Enamel brands vary in the techniques, the mixing, the applications, and the firing. I use and teach with Unique Glass Colors or Colors for Earth and the supplemental glass products they offer.
