Mastering the Art of Fused Glass Painting - Studies in Nature and Wildlife is my second publication and a sequel to my first book, The Art of Fused Glass Enamel Painting - a guide of applications for all skill levels.
Products used in this book feature Unique Glass Colors and my Nature Color Collection. Hues 2 Fuse or Colors for Earth enamels may be substituted and used in combination with these projects and techniques. Techniques are specific and tested with these products.
This new publication focuses on special techniques and advanced projects, enhancing the skills already learned in the first book, The Art of Fused Glass Enamel Painting - a guide of applications for all skill levels for more sophisticated projects, or having a familiarity with fused glass enamel painting. The subject matter is wildlife and nature, and the book presents several advanced techniques that I have personally developed.
In this book, you will also learn or improve your project planning skills – plan your artwork from start to finish – to include making decisions on color choices; creating/mixing project-specific colors; incorporating multiple products and/or techniques into a single project; and recognizing when steps require pre-firing to successfully combine a variety of products and techniques.
This spiral bound workbook is easy to use in your own studio. It consists of 189 pages with more than 600 color photographs and several featured projects for you to apply the techniques covered. A data disc is included with 14 PDF pattern and design guide files for your personal use (PDF files will not be provided in any other format or method). Patterns are for projects as they are demonstrated in the book, of course creating or choosing your own designs and subject matter are encouraged - it is about learning the processes and techniques.
NOTE: If you do not have a disc drive on your device, external disc drives are available at reasonable prices ($15 -$25) on Amazon or at retail stores.
