As a wildlife and nature artist in the fired glass painting industry, I frequently have found myself creating a palette of nature colors that are not currently offered in the enamel lines I use and teach with. I decided to create a set of intermediate enamel colors to assist the nature artist in painting of landscapes, wildlife, or botanical themed fused glass work.

These new enamel colors have been tested in multiple applications with the UGC line of NT Enamels, Hues 2 Fuse and Colors for Earth ‘G’ Series fired glass enamels. Fused glass enamel painters can easily incorporate this Nature Color Collection with any of these enamel brands.

Enamel colors come in powdered form and they require mixing with a medium for painting. You may use UGC Medium, CFE GM300 Glass Medium or H2F Media for mixing to a liquid painting state and other techniques.

I mature enamels between 1375 and 1390 in my kilns depending on the techniques I use and the projects desired results. My full fused firing ranges between 1430 for System96 and 1460 for Bullseye 90.
